At an awards ceremony held at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on the 19 November 2013, Sicelo Joja emerged as the overall winner in the BDO UJ Accounting Studies Thought Leadership Project. The assignment required students to write a critical essay on the business activities relating to socio-economic issues, environ-mental issues and financial position of one of 10 JSE-listed companies. The top 12 students then had to give a short presentation on their assignment at the awards function. Thereafter, the top three were selected to take part in a panel discussion with BDO partners, in front of the audience. Well done, Sicelo!
