Past pupil: Greer Dennison (2000)
Greer Kyle Dennison matriculated in 2000 at The King’s School Robin Hills, and is the owner of GreerKyle. The mission of GreerKyle is to produce unique, ethically friendly garments that exceed the value proposition of competing brands by offering exceptional quality at an attractive (though premium) price. Greer has 17 years’ experience in the fashion industry including a Bachelors of Arts in Fashion attained at LISOF- her thesis being on ‘The benefits a training centre would derive from being linked to a clothing label’.
While completing her Bachelors of Arts Degree, Greer worked as a designer, pattern maker and production manager for 7 Fashion Weeks including Paris Fashion Week as a head designer at Fundudzi. Greer’s conviction stuck with her and a year later she produced a sewing skills DVD that is used as an empowering tool to train potential employees in creating a high-end sustainable clothing brand while offering trainees the skills to better their own lives.
The DVD trains individual to use all relevant tools and materials used in the production of a complete garment and has the unit standards required by CTFL SETA (South African Education and Training affiliation). She won a scholarship at Sierra Nevada College for a business course and mentorship programme in San Francisco. GreerKyle has been selected as one of the SA top new talent designers. GreerKyle launched last year at SAFW and since supplies 29 Boutiques country wide.

Greer says, “At The King’s School I was able to explore my creativity. Riana Lourens, my Art teacher, played a huge part in my self-esteem being developed as a creative person. God’s Word has also been fundamental in my growth and vision for my business and I would be nowhere without it. It’s in the silent moments when darkness comes that the Word of God lights a path and opens doors to what He alone has destined. His plans are always to prosper you and I lean on His will for my life. I am living my purpose and I thank God for it.”
