Molly Coltart

What have you done since school and what are you doing now?

I have done a lot of travelling all over the world. I worked for a year in the USA in a Christian School and went on a mission to Bogota Columbia, and Romania. On returning to SA I decided I wanted to study drama overseas in the UK. I was able to come to the UK as a citizen and fulfill that dream at Guildhall School of Speech and Drama. I spent a year with a school’s theatre company, and was part of a theatre in Brighton. I married an Englishman, and had a daughter here. Unfortunately my husband passed away of cancer, and since then I retrained as a Psychotherapist, which is what I currently do.

What difference are you making in your world?

I have the privilege of helping people with their mental health and people broken by circumstances in their life. I also run a Bereavement Journey course as part of my church, and I’m in the process of writing a basic counselling skills course for churches. I have also had the opportunity to write articles for magazines and websites on mental health and my testimony. I have the privilege of raising a beautiful daughter as my most important disciple.

What memories do you have from your time at The King’s school?

I made some very special friends which I am still friends with today. People who share my faith. I was highly impacted by Drummond and Lindah Robinson who were not only our youth pastors but taught drama and evangelism at the school. To this day my walk with Christ was built on the foundations that they laid in my life, and the passion to reach the lost.

What life lessons would you like to share with current or future learners at The King’s School?

It’s never too late to start over, no matter what life throws at you, God makes a way for you to find restoration and healing and a new door to open. Focus on Jesus the author and perfector of your faith, He will see you through whatever your journey holds.
